Your legacy can change lives

We raise funds for charities working at the front line of youth homelessness, especially those making their own way. Some operate “wrap-around” systems of care and support; others fill niches that big charities and governments bypass. We look for organisations with fresh approaches and strong volunteer foundations. Mostly, we fund specific programs, assessed and monitored by TCF. We aim to pass every dollar we raise, net of direct fundraising costs, to frontline charities. We pay no staff salaries, director fees or personal expenses; we don’t even have an office. Youth homelessness can seem like a problem too big for one person to solve, however, you are able to make a significant impact by leaving a gift to The Chappell Foundation in your Will.

Your gift will be life-changing for disadvantaged or homeless young people. Your generosity will mean we can continue to support and fund those organisations that shelter, nurture and train homeless children and transform the lives of future generations.

Through a bequest, you can make sure that you will still be able to improve lives even when you’re no longer here, as more than 99c of every dollar we receive as a donation will go straight to our frontline charity partners. Your legacy will live on through the life of every child we strive to lift out of homelessness.

What can I leave in my Will to The Chappell Foundation?

Every gift – no matter its size - will help us continue our work to support disadvantaged young people in a state of homelessness. Most of the bequests we receive follow one of these formats:

Residual Gift

This is one of the most common ways to leave a charitable gift in your Will.

It means that once your loved ones have received their inheritance and your other financial commitments have been paid out, the remainder of your Estate is gifted to The Chappell Foundation.

Specific Gift

Another common way to give in your Will is to specify either a certain amount or a tangible asset. The Chappell Foundation can accept many different assets as a bequest, including:

  • Cash, stock and bonds.

  • Real estate properties (including land).

  • Personal property, such as a car, jewellery or artwork.

  • Other assets, such as a life insurance policy or superannuation account.

Percentage

This is simply a gift expressed as a percentage or fraction of your Estate.

Whole Estate

Donors who leave their entire Estate to us are usually without family or other preferred beneficiaries, or people who want to make a significant, positive impact on the lives of future generations.

How do I leave a gift / bequest to The Chappell Foundation in my Will?

The Chappell Foundation is more than happy to talk through options to find one most suitable for your situation, connect you with a solicitor if needed, or work with your existing solicitor to assist with appropriate wording in line with your wishes.

There is absolutely no requirement to tell us if you decide to include The Chappell Foundation in your Will. However, by sharing your intentions, we can make sure we contact you only with information that is helpful and relevant to you. We’d also really appreciate being able to thank you for your life-changing pledge to disadvantaged or homeless young people.
