About Us

Founders' Message

Believing that youth homelessness is a disgrace to our nation and a root cause of social harm, we decided in 2017 to establish the Foundation. We knew many Australians who were as disturbed as we were by the ruin of young lives and who wanted to help.
We saw excellent organisations rescuing young people from the streets but always hobbled by scarce funds. We decided those were the charities The Chappell Foundation should support.

The Chappell Foundation

In one of the world’s most affluent countries we face an escalating homelessness crisis. Any night, more than 45,850* people aged under 25 are without shelter, couch-surfing, or in overcrowded temporary accommodation.

The Chappell Foundation exists to combat this blight on young lives. We raise funds for frontline charities to shelter, nourish, educate, train and, above all, give them prospects for a better future.

We pass on every dollar raised, after fundraising expenses. We pay no salaries and employ no staff; we’re all volunteers. To March 2023, TCF raised $4.36 million, net of fundraising expenses, and spent less than $28,000 (0.64%) on administrative costs.
